Temple Shalom's Young Jewish Professionals (YJP) program is just over one year old, and growing fast. Our previous coordinator moved to the west coast, and we are seeking a new coordinator to seize on, and continue, the momentum.

Approximately 10-12 hours/month

Job Responsibilities:

  1. Organize engaging formal and informal gatherings (1-3 events per month) to support and grow our cohort of Jewish adults, ages 22-39, using Temple Shalom in Medford as a Jewish “home base.” Guide our collection of Young Jewish Professionals as they develop into a true community of shared interests and values.
  2. Maintain existing WhatsApp, text, and email groups of participants, and use other social media to publicize and advertise events. Work with the staff and lay leaders of Temple Shalom to timely submit event details for publication in synagogue calendars, bulletins, and emails.
  3. Outreach to and recruit program participants.
  4. Handle plan and oversee programs, including: managing online registrations, purchasing supplies, making venue reservations, publicizing events, and following up with attendees.
  5. Evaluate program effectiveness, solicit feedback from attendees.
  6. Work collaboratively with lay leaders at Temple Shalom to manage the program budget and plan for the continued success of this program and its long term integration into Temple Shalom life.
  7. Seek out, and coordinate with Temple Shalom lay leaders to take advantage of, micro-grant (and similar) opportunities from CJP and similar organizations to expand the resources and potential reach / offerings of the YJP program.
